Intensive Outpatient Program

The goal of the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is to help clients with substance dependence maintain abstinence from alcohol and/or drugs and enhance their skills to prevent relapse. The program is offered both mid-morning and in the evening to accommodate individual needs. The IOP meets three times per week for approximately six weeks.

Eligibility Criteria:
- Must meet the appropriate level of care as determined by the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) Placement Criteria
- Must meet criteria for a substance dependence diagnosis

Discharge Requirements:
- Total abstinence from all substances
- Meeting the objectives outlined in client’s Individual Plan of Care
- Completion of self-help/support attendance log
- Have a family member or friend attend IOP family sessions
- Completion of drinking/drug history and presentation to group for feedback
- Completion of Relapse Prevention Plan
